FFA Mud Volleyball: Down and Dirty

By: Kolyn Scott

On Saturday, September 23, the Richmond FFA held a mud volleyball tournament at the Ray County fairgrounds starting at 9:00 am. The FFA prepared two mud courts to be played on. The teams could consist of 6 to 8 people, ages 14 and up. Six boy-girl teams pre-registered to play in the tournament. The teams would play pool play first, then they would go into single elimination. In the end the winners came out to be the Black Mambas. This team consisted of Valerie Nobile, Austin Keefhaver, Kayla George, Jocelyn Caldwell, Diaz Elliot, and Braidn Ford.

The Friends of Richmond FFA also provided snacks and refreshments for players to enjoy, such as doughnuts, granola bars, chips, water, Gatorade, and much more. The Richmond FFA chapter would like to thank everyone who came out and played, and also everyone who came out and supported the event. Sophomore Thomas Steffens says, “I feel like mud volleyball went very well. I was super excited about the turn out.”
