Tips for Getting Ready in the Morning

      It is pretty obvious that everyone struggles with getting up and getting ready for school. The feeling of knowing that you are going into a stressful environment full of all your peers, who may or may not be judging you, isn’t exactly motivation to hurry off to school. So here are some tips on how to get ready quick and with some more motivation.

  • Get all of your morning routine timed out perfectly. Getting your routine down and timed helps make the morning go smoother, and you can sleep longer.
  • There are just some people that you may not like at all, whether it’s because they are mean, annoying, or too nice and you’re just too grumpy to hang. Don’t think about these people in the morning because that is not very good motivation to help you rise and shine in time. That almost rhymes!
  • Your phone can wait. Looking at your phone first thing in the morning probably isn’t the best, because what if there are more snapchat stories than you were expecting, then your whole morning routine will be out of whack. Just saying.
  • Have everything laid out the night before. Having everything laid out the night before prevents having that moment of panic, when you can’t find your favorite shirt that you wear 8 times a week and you can’t have anymore tardies.
  • Try mixing it up. What this means is, don’t wear sweats everyday of your high school career. As comfy as they are, they aren’t the right thing to wear every day. Get dressed up like you are going out for a night on the town! Except it is school and you might be sent home for what you might wear on a night out on the town, but at least you tried.
  • Ladies, you don’t need to wear makeup every day. If someone can’t handle your bare face, well then tell them that you can’t handle theirs either, but not in like an “I hate you” kind of way, but more of like an “I honestly don’t like you at all” kind of way. Hate is a strong word.
  • You should always eat breakfast. It’s is the most important meal of the day and there is no reason anyone should be hangry before noon.
  • Something you could always consider is wearing the clothes you’re planning on wearing to school and wear them to bed the night before. That will knock a lot of time off your morning!
  • Something to always remember in the morning is that school is only 7 hours long and Wednesdays are even shorter!
  • Another thing to remember is that there is nothing wrong with looking like a wreck.
