Tips on How to "Fall"

By: Emma Daniels

First off, this is not going to be about falling on your face, it is on how to get into the fall spirit! The weather lately does not have any of us convinced that it is fall, but now that the temperature is going down, get ready. Fall is here and no one is prepared. Here are some tips on how to get prepared.

  • First things first, you must have a pumpkin spiced latte in hand if you are a teenage girl living in the 21st century. You just have to. It’s literally the law.
  • Second, pull out all those cute fall sweaters that you bought over the summer because they were on sale. There is no better way to embrace fall than with a cute fall sweater that you can take a mirror selfie in and caption it, “sweater weather”.
  • Third, keep all your grades up because when fall is here, that means half of first semester is already complete and if you aren’t doing great, you can’t hide it from your parents for much longer. Sorry but you’re out of luck, try better next year semester I guess.
  • Fourth, buy your winter coat now. Here in good ole Missouri, one day it could be 90 degrees and the next it just might be -90 degrees, you just never know! Always be prepared.
  • Fifth, in order to even embrace the fact that it’s fall, you must start wearing saddle boots (preferably brown or black), knitted boot cuffs or leg warmers, a pair of jeans or black leggings, a knitted warm colored sweater, a fleece jacket, and lastly a pumpkin spiced latte in hand so that when you take that picture for snapchat it will read, “basic white girl”.
  • Sixth, for guys all you need is what you wore all summer.
  • Seventh, don’t forget to carve pumpkins with all of your friends! There’s nothing better than carving out crazy faces into a pumpkin with friends and then posting all of your pumpkins on social media and asking people which pumpkin is the best. 1, 2, 3, or 4?
  • Eighth, the most important holiday during fall is Halloween. You know it is, don’t lie. So you must, YOU MUST dress up for Halloween. If you don’t even put a blood splatter on your clothes, you are doing something very wrong. Very wrong.
  • Lastly, Thanksgiving is the second most important holiday in fall, mainly because there are only two holidays in fall but it’s whatever. Anyway, it is important that you eat as much food as you can on Thanksgiving Day, because if you don’t you will not have enough fuel to last you through the night of Black Friday and if you don’t have enough fuel, you will not get that awesome new apple device that you have wanted your whole, except it hasn’t even been a thing your whole life. Just don’t try to eat lightly, eat heavily. But most importantly, start posting about Christmas the minute thanksgiving is over. This step is vital.
