Let the Games Begin!

Last year, Mrs. Robbin Cole’s accounting students participated in the Missouri Stock Market Game. The MO Stock Market game is a virtual real world stock market that follows the actual stock market to mimic how it works. Teams competing start with investing $100,000, and the end goal is to make more. The game teaches participants how important saving and investing is, as well as connecting them to the global economy.

From our school, graduate Skylar Fulte and senior Garrett Gifford placed in the top ten Missouri High School Teams with $110,679.27. When asked if he would participate again, Garrett Gifford said perhaps he would. “Examining the stock market is interesting, to match patterns to make money.” Congratulations to the two students, not just on their placement, but for their new understanding of the economy.
