Teacher Spotlight: Layne Jackson

     This is Ms. Layne Jackson’s first year teaching. She went to Willard High School, located outside of Springfield. In high school, she participated in FCA, FCCLA, NHS, Leadership, Track, Cross Country, Basketball, and was the Student Body President. Ms. Jackson attended college at University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg and received her BSE (Bachelors of Science in Education) in mathematics. In college, she was involved with Kappa Mu Epsilon (Math Society), Leadership, she worked in a Grant Office, was the Sonia Kovalevsky Day Leader and Christian Campus House Leader. Ms. Jackson teaches Algebra 1, AP Calculus, and ACT Prep. She is the RHS Cross Country coach and the sponsor for the class of 2021 and the Math Team.

     Ms. Jackson enjoys cake decorating, crafting, movies, and exploring new places.  She has five siblings, one brother, three step brothers, and a step sister. Ms. Jackson is engaged and getting married in June of 2018. She has a Golden Doodle named Molly and says Molly, “thinks she is human and is the best cuddler.” Ms. Jackson has been to Mexico, Romania, Hungary, Paris, the Netherlands, and all over the United States. Her favorite part of teaching at RHS is “the small town feeling and getting to know so many students, even ones I don’t have.”
