Tips on How to Stay Calm during Mid-Terms

By: Emma Daniels

It is that time of the year, where you are filled with Christmas cheer and a bunch of anxiety because, well, mid-terms are here. So sit back and enjoy these tips on how not to go completely insane during mid-terms.

  • Keep a stress ball on hand. Breaking pencils and chewing your finger nails is not healthy and you can’t take a test with no pencil. So just keep a stress ball in your backpack and if you are feeling like exploding, take it out on the ball.
  • Study like you have never studied before. You need, no you HAVE, to get a good grade because if you don’t, Santa is not coming this year. Getting bad grades will actually ruin your entire break. No joke.
  • Begin asking teachers what will be on the final early, so then you can get your notes together early and so you will be even more prepared. If the teacher says that they won’t tell you, then there is really nothing you can do after that. Darn.
  • Eat every meal, bring snacks to school, but don’t eat too much, to where you will have indigestion, but don’t eat so little that you stomach starts to make whale noises in a completely silent room full of your peers.
  • Remember that you got this, you can accomplish anything and everything. Unless you didn’t study at all and didn’t prepare yourself, then this isn’t for you, you don’t have this. In the wise words of Beyoncé, “Sorry, I ain’t sorry.”
  • Tell your family that you love them every day before you take a test or give your mother a present, just something to sweeten them up before you might come home with an F. Hopefully then they won’t be mad at you, but they probably will. No one can tell the future, except for a psychic, maybe go see a psychic.
  • If you don’t do well, the best suggestion is to just go home and cry. There is really nothing you can do beyond that. Truly there is nothing more you can do.
