FFA Greenhand Conference

By: Ashley Wilton

On January 9, 2018, the Richmond FFA Chapter took 17 of their first year members to the Annual Greenhand Conference in Sedalia. The Greenhand conference introduces students to the benefits and the opportunities in agriculture.

Two of the members that attended were Wyatt Covey and Carley Bowling. Wyatt said his favorite part about the conference was, “splitting into groups and learning about the three parts of FFA and CDE’s.” However, Carley said, “the groups were her least favorite part of the conference because in the groups you were with members of other chapters.” At the conference Carley said she learned just how many opportunities there really are in FFA and agriculture.

Both Wyatt and Carley said that they would recommend this conference to any first year FFA members. It’s a great way to learn about many things in not just FFA, but agriculture too.
