Teacher Spotlight: Betsy Marshall

     Ms. Betsy Marshall attended high school at Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. During high school, Ms. Marshall played flute in the band, participated in the school dance team, the Jayettes, and was a part of the figure skating club; she was also a Jefferson City Parks and Rec (JCPR) skate instructor. Ms. Betsy Marshall attended college at Baker University where she got her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and then went to University of Central Missouri where she got her Masters of Arts in secondary education. During college she was involved with the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.

     Ms. Marshall has been a teacher for 10 years, all of them being here at RHS. She is the teacher for Personal Finance, Leadership in the Work Place, Entrepreneurship, Retail and ISS. She has previously taught Housing, Parenting and Childhood Development, Foods and Nutrition, and Leadership. Ms. Marshall has been the head cheer coach for 8 years, but a coach for cheer a total of 19 years.

     Ms. Marshall likes to travel and work on house projects in her free time. She is the mother to Gracie, 11th grade, and Wyatt, 9th grade, and 2 dogs, Zou and Lily. Something you might not know about Ms. Marshall is that she doesn’t like fruit and she used to be in banking for 18 years before teaching. She says her favorite part about teaching is “watching the students grow from year to year. It is always fun to see how their points of views change and interests change.”
