FFA State Degree Application 2018

By: Kolyn Scott

The FFA State Degree is earned by FFA members who have met all of the requirements listed in the official FFA manual. Some of these include earning the Chapter FFA Degree, being an active member for 2 years, putting enough money toward your SAE, participating in FFA functions, and much more. The State Degree is an application process, along with your record books from present and years past.

The first deadline for members applying for the state degree was January 19th.  At this time the applications would be taken by the advisors to be reviewed and gone over by them. After the advisors finished reviewing the applications they will be taken to an area review session on January 24th. This is where chapter advisors in our Area (Area 6) would get together and look over and check other member’s state degrees. The degrees will then be returned to members where they will have two days to correct as many mistakes as possible before their final deadline on January 31st. At the final deadline the degrees will be collected by the state and be scored, this will determine if students will be receiving their State FFA Degree. The members who earn this will receive their degrees April 19-20 at State Convention in Columbia, Missouri.
