Teacher Spotlight: Coach Mark Burke

     Coach Mark Burke went to high school at the School of Ozarks. He was involved with Student Council and was the class president his ninth and twelfth grade year and vice president his tenth and eleventh year, and he played tennis.  Coach Burke attended college at the University of Arkansas where he got his Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Science in Business, and got his Masters in Administration at Lindenwood University. During college, Coach Burke worked full time in construction.

     Coach Burke has been a teacher for a total two years as a full time teacher and four years substituting at RHS. Altogether he’s been a teacher for fifteen years. He’s taught computer programing, business tech 1 and 2, business law, web page design, marketing, computer applications, and desktop publishing. He’s coached boys golf and girls softball.

     He likes to golf and go to the lake. He’s married, and has 4 kids. Two interesting facts about him are that he delivered all his children and he was offered a scholarship to Julliard of Music in Voice. Coach Burke says his favorite thing about teaching at RHS is “HANDS DOWN FIRST- The Kids! And working with the staff.”
