School Snack Tips

By: Emilee Cline

      Throughout the day here at RHS you may get hungry between meals, but I am here with a tip to help you with your snacks for school. Now remember, it is just snack so you don’t need to pack a full roast and mashed potatoes. This also means you don’t need a family size bag of chips. If you don’t have smaller bags of chips, or whatever type of snack you want to bring to school, the night before you should put some of your snack into a smaller Ziploc baggie. When you portion off your snacks you are doing a couple of things to help yourself;

  1. If you have a smaller portion, you won’t get 20 million people asking you for “a bite”.
  2. You won’t be making a bunch of noise while munching on your snack during class when you go to open the package because it’s in a baggie.
  3. If you eat a smaller portion of a snack, you’re tricking your brain into thinking it’s healthier because it’s not the whole bag and you won’t be completely full when you go to eat lunch.

 These tips are crucial for High School if you are someone who gets hungry at odd times or doesn’t wake up earlier enough to eat a healthy breakfast. However, breakfast is a lot better for you. Just make sure you don’t leave all of your trash everywhere!
