State FFA Degree Recipients

By: Kolyn Scott

In FFA, members can earn degrees as they progress through the phases of their leadership, academic and career skills development. The Discovery Degree, Greenhand Degree and Chapter FFA Degree are all earned at the chapter level. State FFA Associations recognize their top members with a State FFA Degree.

A few requirements students must meet in order to earn their State FFA Degree would be chapter FFA Degree, 2 years of agricultural course work & 24 hours of active membership, SAE earnings and investments of at least $1,000 or at least 300 unpaid hours outside of class time, leadership ability, participation in Chapter Program of Activities, participation in at least 5 FFA activities above chapter level, satisfactory scholastic record, and more.

Members who reach this goal will be awarded a gold emblem charm during the 2018 State FFA Convention in Columbia, Missouri on April 20. Richmond FFA had 2 members/officers earn their State FFA Degree this year. Those members include: President Kolyn Scott and Secretary Zach Stewart.
