Early Morning Act

On Friday, March 16, twenty-three students rolled out of bed on their day off to meet at the high school at 6:50 a.m. This year’s One Act and Reader’s Theatre traveled to Liberty North High School to perform for judges. The One Act was the first to go, and was ready and set up to perform by eleven. Once they were done, it was time for the Reader’s Theatre to get dressed and get prepared in time to perform by 12:30. By the end of the day, The One Act received seventh place, and the Reader’s Theatre eighth. Sadly, neither act will be continuing on to state. Debate duo Garrett Gifford and Conner Craig stayed behind from their peers to also compete, but sadly did not make it into the final rounds.

Saturday, March 17 marked this year’s Speech and Debate Districts meet at Liberty North High School. Six Richmond students were in attendance, and did their best throughout the day in their competing categories. Sadly, just like their debate peers the night before, none of the attendees made it to state. While Speech and Debate has now concluded for this school year, competitors in the One Act and Reader’s Theatre will still be performing at the Farris Theatre for family and friends Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m and Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m.
