Tips for Prom: Before and After

By: Emma Daniels

Almost everyone that goes through high school will attend the Prom. Prom is the night for everyone to feel nice, clean and beautiful. Everyone will be wearing a dress they most definitely spent way too much money on, or a suit or tux that the boys don’t necessarily want to wear. Here are some tips on to enjoy prom, prepare for prom, and be responsible before, during and after prom.

  1. After you’ve already spent a bunch of money on that dress or your date, it’s probably best for you to salvage all the money you can before the big day. Just don’t eat or go out and do anything fun until prom.
  2. For the ladies, if someone is doing your makeup, make sure you don’t look completely different. Don’t look like someone said, “Here let me completely replace your face with this makeup mask.” Your date didn’t ask you to prom just for you to completely ruin your face with makeup, come on.
  3. If your makeup gets messed up, DON’T FREAK OUT! Everything will be OKAY. Touch it up. Ask the person that did your makeup if you can borrow their stuff so if touch ups are needed then you can most definitely do that. In the wise words of Kourtney Kardashian, “There are people that are dying Kim.”
  4. After all of the pictures and parents telling how good you look, they will send you off and then you and your crew will go to eat at some place that is quite expensive. At this restaurant it is important to check and make sure that your money is in fact in your wallet or your purse. Don’t be that person.
  5. During the dance, have fun and enjoy your prom whether it’ll be your first, last or whatever, but make sure that you keep it enjoyable for everyone and don’t be obnoxious. Don’t be that person that gets too excited and like punches someone in the face because you were going way too hard.
  6. After the dance is over, it’s time to go home and get ready for after prom. Remember there will be a breathalyzer there waiting for you, so don't do anything you'll regret. Sorry not sorry.
  7. After, after Prom, get home carefully. If you don’t feel like you should drive, don’t. Have a parent or someone come get you. There is no need to be unsafe just because you don’t want to wake someone or bother them for a ride.
  8. Don’t forget that Waffle House is open 24 hours a day!
  9. Sleep is very important. You should probably sleep until school starts Monday morning. Because you already know your Sunday is going to be a lazy day anyway.
  10. After it’s over cry because you are so miserably tired from getting too turnt.
  11. Last, go ahead and put your dress in a cardboard box for storage that is labeled “2018 Prom” because it is going to be in there until the end of time.
