The Richmond R-XVI School District is committed to inspiring each of its students to love learning and to embrace challenge within a rich and rigorous academic culture.  The Richmond R-XVI School District is located in Richmond, Missouri of Ray County.  Richmond is the county seat and is located 40 miles east of downtown Kansas City.  The District proudly serves the communities of Camden, Henrietta, Knoxville, Millville, Rayville, and Richmond and is comprised of one high school, one middle school and two elementary schools that support approximately 1600 students.

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 - Nondiscrimination and Freedom from Harassment on the Basis of Sex

The statute states No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

It is the policy of the Richmond R-XVI School District to maintain a learning and working environment that is free from discrimination on the basis of sex in the educational programs, activities, and vocational opportunities offered by the District. The provisions of Title IX extend not only to students with regard to educational opportunities and freedom from harassment, but also to employees with regard to employment opportunities and freedom from harassment, and to individuals with whom the District does business.
